The Contributor · Eng · Buying · DataOne thread runs through all of it: taste that can be justified. An editor does not fill a page. They decide what stays out — and can say why. That is how I buy: a range is what survives the tests, not what was ordered last season. Engineering rigour meets seven years in the premium segment, 2017 to 2023 — shop floor, buying office, and a label of my own.
What I want next is a buying desk where sustainable means what it used to mean: made well enough to be kept. A seam that still holds after years, a leather that ages instead of failing, a workshop that can say why the last is cut that way. I can pull a material to breaking point and put a number on it — but the number only proves it survives. Whether it deserves to be kept is settled by hand and eye, in the seconds before anyone opens the test report. I want to buy where both still count.

Not everything belongs on the surface. Unreleased concepts, full tech packs, tensile data, pricing models and the work still under wraps — available on request, not on display.
